You're conventionally attractive white women, what about people who don't have your privilege?
This one is more of an accusation than anything else, but it comes up a lot. Think this through: should people with "privilege" take advantage of it, even if it harms people who are currently disadvantaged by the system? Or should they show solidarity with their fellow human beings and do what they can to fight the oppressive system? If two groups are held to high beauty standards, but one group can more easily meet those standards, how is it helpful for them to conform? How is it helpful to leave the work of resistance to those who logically will have to pay a heavier price?
To be clear, neither of us agree with eurocentric beauty standards any more than we agree with ableism or agism. But, they are currently in place and we do not feel comfortable doing the relatively* small amount of work it takes for us to conform to them so that women from marginalized groups can do all the heavy lifting of fighting these beauty standards. This is especially true because women who complain about beauty standards are often called ugly and told they are only complaining because they are bitter.
Please note that under this framework, beautiful women can't object to beauty standards because they're so attainable and ugly women can't object because they aren't. Who exactly is allowed to object to beauty standards if this is how people are going to play it? Isn't it interesting that it is set up so women who are the ones suffering under the system are never allowed to object to it because their arguments are always discredited by either privilege or sour grapes? We recommend resisting the urge to attack us and save that energy for the people telling you that something about your looks invalidates your arguments.
*to be clear, it's still a ton of work for any women to conform to these standards. But if being hairless everywhere south of the eyelashes is burdensome to a woman with minimal hair that grows as slowly as possible, how much harder is it for a woman who has five times as much hair and which grows back in 12 hours?
